What is homespot?
homespot is the fast broadband Internet access for all of Spain. If you have a connection to our fibre optic network, you will receive broadband Internet via cable. If there is no fibre available, we offer fast Internet via the 4G mobile network. Here you even save when you are not in Spain.
How long does it take to set up Internet?
With homespot via 4G, no installation is required. We will send you the router already pre-configured. After plugging it in, you can start surfing immediately – without a technician. The installation and activation of your fiber optic connection usually takes only two to three weeks and two technician appointments from the cable company are necessary. This means you either have to be on site yourself or have a contact person on site who has access to your property and the home service room at all times.
What speeds does homespot offer?
There are two speed levels for fibre optic cables: 250 Mbps and 500 Mbps. If you use homespot via the 4G mobile network, speeds of a maximum of 100 Mbps can be achieved. This mobile solution thus offers a user experience that is much better than an ADSL connection and comparable to a fibre connection.
Is there a data limit?
Internet access via the fiber-optic network has an unlimited data volume. In the 4G mobile network, this is subject to so-called fair usage. This means that the tariff itself is not subject to any data cap, but we and the network operator reserve the right to cap services if your volume is far above the usual. This capping is dynamic and based on the average volume of all our customers. The cap is currently a generous 300 GB per month, which is more than sufficient for normal users.
How quickly can you ship the 4G router?
The 4G router will be shipped with DHL Express. Shipping takes 1 to 3 days for Spain (mainland and the Balearic Islands) and Europe and between 2 and 7 days for the Canary Islands due to customs there. At the moment of dispatch you will receive an e-mail with the tracking number. This allows you to check the status of your parcel at any time. Please be aware that due to the Brexit there is no shipping to the United Kingdom.
How do I save money with the start-stop function?
Using our Internet access via the 4G mobile network, you save money when you are not in Spain. Our system automatically detects this and you only pay 19,90 € per calendar month that you are not here.
What is the contract term?
homespot via fibre has a minimum contract term of 12 months, whereas homespot via 4G does not have a minimum contract term and can be cancelled at any time with 14 days’ notice to the end of the month.
How is payment made?
You can conveniently make your payments by using your credit or debit card (VISA and Mastercard). Your card details will be used for both the initial fee and the ongoing monthly fees.
